4 yearly review of Modern Awards
11 December 2020
As a result of the 4 yearly review of modern awards, the Full Bench of the Fair Work Commission (‘Commission’) is significantly varying existing awards primarily to address technical and drafting matters. These varied awards will have the year ‘2020’ in their title, reflect the amendments determined by the Commission and most notably include summaries of the hourly rates of pay and monetary allowances in the schedules of the awards.
So far, the varied awards in Tranche 1 came into effect from 4 February 2020, and the varied awards in Tranche 2 were divided into smaller groups which came into effect from 13 April, 4 May and 29 May 2020. The awards in Tranche 3 were also divided into smaller groups some of which have come into effect and others in the near future.
